The School Games - a great new opportunity to get more young people enjoying and playing competitive sport
Welcome to the School Games in Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent
In Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent a year-round calendar of competitive sporting opportunities has been created and is designed to get young people competing in both intra and inter school activity. This will culminate in the School Games Level Three Festival, where the winning teams from School Sport Partnership-level tournaments in a variety of sports will come together to compete for the title of county champions.
This Festival will take place on 3rd July 2012 at Keele University and at local high schools, and will showcase the best of the county’s young sporting talent. It is being organised by a Local Organising Committee which is working with a variety of other partners to deliver what will be a memorable event for all involved. Tournaments will be held in a wide variety of sports and will include opportunities young people with
disabilities. Additionally, various other competitions earlier in the school year are being branded as ‘School Games County Finals’ too.
Further details, including the sports involved, can be found here.
