School Games Competition for Academic Year 2020/21
The Active Partnership and local School Games Organisers (SGO's) are in the process of planning the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent School Games Calendar for academic year 2020/21.
It is likely that the Satellite Events held from September to December 2020 will remain virtual and we hope to resume physical County finals from March 2021 onwards. However, this will be dependent on government advice and Coronavirus developments.
Staffordshire and Stoke-on-trent School Games online resource
The School Games Organisers of Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent working in partnership with the Active Partnership, Sport Across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, have created an online resource to help teachers navigate the vast amount of resources available during Covid-19
The first edition is available by clicking on the image below.
We hope you will find this useful and please feel free to share the online resource with the parents, guardians and pupils of your school.
Welcome to the Virtual School Games county Finals 2020!
Unfortunately, although we have had to cancel the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent School Games Summer Festival 2020, we don't want young people to miss out so have so have come up with a virtual competition offer.
We know this will not fully replace the amazing atmosphere of the grand Summer Festival, but we are hoping it provides and alternative to enjoying the fantastic finals that would have taken place (please note, some finals have had to be slightly changed and adapted).
It is important to know that pupils are still representing their school and district and have the opportunity to become County champions.
How does the virtual competition work?
Each week from June 1st 2020, a new competition will be launched on @StaffsSG. Your local School Games Organiser will collate the district results and the top result from each district will be sent to the Active
Partnership (Sport Across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent). The Active Partnership will then collate the results from across the County.
The County Final results will be announced week commencing 13th July and these will be published on this website and also on the Twitter page @StaffsSG.
The winning school will receive a trophy and gold medals. The school that comes 2nd will receive silver medals and the school that comes 3rd will receive bronze medals. All entrants will also receive a Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Virtual School Games County Final certificate. (The school will receive these in September 2020).
Below you will find information on the competitions taking place.
